Domain Of Dreams: Domain of dreams
02/02/12 || revenant
Once known as Solaris, Domain of Dreams is a prog metal band from Bulgaria. This is their third release, though their first under this moniker. This is some pretty good stuff, well arranged with some tasteful, if over indulgent, guitar solos throughout and well placed symphonic instrumentation that fits the music perfectly. Long songs fill this album, passing from heavier passages to acoustic sections, drawing influences from heavy metal to as far as David Bowie. All very good, like I said, and almost the Domain of Wet Dreams for prog metal fans but for one thing: the vocals. Oh man, what happened here? The dude can’t keep his vibrato under control, in essence warbling like a mortally wounded turkey. What a shame. The music is good, but this guys going to kill it for most listeners.
7/10: On the right track, but kill the turkey and get a better vocalist in.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
